This framed canvas brings to life the famous fold-out battle map from Anglia Rediviva (England's Recovery), published in 1647 and compiled by Joshua Sprigg, chaplain to Parliamentarian commander Sir Thomas Fairfax. Engraved by Robert Streeter (also spelled Steeter), it lays out every rank of horse and foot as Charles I's Royalist army faced Fairfax's New Model Army at Naseby on 14 June 1645, and it carries its original period title: "Description of the Armies of Horse and Foot of His Majesties, and Sir Thomas Fairefax, his Excellency, as they were drawn into battayle at Nasbye; the Fowerteenth day of June 1645."
